Biography

Katharina Emmerich received her bachelor's and master's degrees in applied cognitive and media science from the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Until 2020, she worked at the chair of Entertainment Computing in Duisburg and successfully defended her dissertation on "Investigating the Social Player Experience: Social Effects in Digital Games" in 2019.

Areas of Research

Katharina's work in HCI is focused on the design and user experience of digital games and playful applications, including social-psychological effects, social interaction, and player experience.
